Verification

What the Verified badge means

The Verified badge means a site has been through a manual review by our editorial team, beyond the automated Trust Score. It appears on site listings, search results, and the site's profile page.

What it confirms

A Verified badge tells you that our team has:

  • Confirmed the operator - the site is run by a real, identifiable business or operator with public contact information
  • Recorded its protections - we have reviewed and listed the security features the site offers
  • Reviewed its track record - we have looked at the site's history and community feedback

What it does not guarantee

The badge reflects the site's state at the time of review and our ongoing attention. It does not guarantee:

  • Every future transaction - individual experiences vary based on item, payment method, region, and timing
  • Permanent status - a site can lose verification if conditions change
  • Endorsement - Verified is a factual status, not a recommendation. We do not rank Verified sites above unverified ones

A site with a high Trust Score but no Verified badge may still be trustworthy. Verification and Trust Score measure different things: the Trust Score is a data-driven number recalculated daily, while verification is a manual editorial review.

Where it appears

If you see a Verified badge, the site has passed our editorial review and continues to be tracked through the daily Trust Score.
