Verification

Can a site lose Verified status?

Yes. Verified status is not permanent. A site can lose its badge if conditions change after the original review.

Conditions that can trigger removal

Condition What it means
Confirmed safety concerns Credible, verified reports of harm to users that our review confirms
Reduced protections Core safeguards (such as two-factor authentication or buyer protection) are removed or stop working
No longer operating as described The site changes its service, ownership, or availability in a way that breaks the original review
Sustained Trust Score decline A long, consistent drop in the score (not a single bad day)

How removal works

When one of these conditions is flagged, our team re-reviews the site. If the concern is confirmed and not resolved, the badge is removed. Badge removal is visible to users right away - the listing updates to show its unverified state. Past reviews and the Trust Score are unaffected; only the Verified badge changes.

Re-earning the badge

A site that loses verification can be reviewed again later. The full review process starts over - there are no shortcuts for previously verified sites. If you are a site owner and believe your site should be re-reviewed, reach out through our Contact page.
